changing e-mail address

I'm closing my hotmail account and have set-up a gmail account but when i update it on here it says that the e-mail address isn't allowed. How can i sort this?

Iirc we had to ban all gmail accounts from the site

As when we went thru a spell of spammers on the site (like a few a day) we found them all to be gmail accounts and they were registering as quick as we could delete them so only way was to ban all gmail which we didn't think would be a problem as majority of gmail users were abroad anyway
