Facebook may well attract new members who use social websites to comunicate and not forums

Whether folks like it or not, it's the way to spread the word nowadays.
It's free advertising at the end of the day.

IMO: it won't stop peeps using the site, just gets us to a wider audience and to folks who don't know we exist.
