Ah come on peps its always been like that
Forums dont want to be involved in bampots selling stuff after a few posts so they put a limit on how much needs to be verified before they can sell THATS common sense

If the whole site is a free for all, then folks dont need to be members. So they're out of business, and then we, and every other group are defunked as a result.
The club is a Limited Company and must turn a profit to survive, so revenue has to come from somewhere.
Its nothing to do with "them and us", its giving members something extra for their money, to entice folks to join.
IMO, everyone who is a regular on here or at meets should be a member. Its not expensive.
Look at the prices we pay for parts, cars, insurance etc, so £30-35?? a year is a drop in the ocean.
The insurance saving alone, especially now Need2insure are onboard, more than pays your membership fee, so its a No Brainer really.

The bottom line; "you can't please everyone" I'm afraid.
There's loads of folks in different predicaments, so they have probably went with the majority.
You can't compare the RSOC to Passionford, it's a different clientele completely.
Just need to wait and see

I use that forum quite often if im honest but the main reason i signed up for the membership was to attend shows with this club not the main RSOC but to be honest i only used it for 1 show and that was the cumbria evan at that i missed it this year
so dont think im gonna bother renewing it for next year when all of the shows that im planing to attend next year u dont need to be a member so aint realy worth the magazine that gets thrown out after ive had a quick flick through it but having said that i would have become a member just now to get 1 of those mk1 FRS models

The latest news...........
An update on The Future of the RSOC BB
The committee is listening, the decision is to cancel the read only approach for Non Members.
The committee will instead tune the areas Non Members can both see and post in.
These changes will be shared in the RSOC Members Area before implementation.
This position will be reviewed in February

Think that makes sense..members deffo deserve more etc but keeping that way draws newbies in to get the feel before joining
