Escort winter facelift

Well seen as im new on here i thought i'd give you a run down on the escort from when i bought it 1 year ago to where were at now with it,

Firstly when i bought the car:


The paintwork was in pretty bad condition so decided to do a 3 stage paint correction on it and finished up like this:




Decided I didn't like the OZ wheels and went for a set of Shadow Chrome Rondells and remover the mudflaps:



Then the salt arrived on the roads so the car got put off the road for the winter, firstly the front suspension got stripped down, all new parts then powdercoated and fitted with poly bushes:




All the chrome tanks got removed from the engine bay and returned for genuine ford parts, going for the standard-ish look:


Some new discs and pads all round:


After the car was restored several years ago by the previous owner and the paintjob was a mess and me being as anal as i am i decided to bite the bullet and get a real paintjob:
















Whilst the car was in the bodyshop i got some new suspension to get shot of the horrid AVO coilovers, went for KONI adjustables with Ahmed Bayjoo springs, plus a new bonnet pad to replace the old sagging one:


The old front splitter was badly warped so treat her to a new full carbon fibre set from Creative Carbon via R&B Motorsport:





Now back to the bodyshop, all the shell has been rubbed down and prepped and all known corrosion areas treated and stoneguarded:



The old tailgate below had some slight rust so this has now been replaced by a brand new genuine ford tailgate which i believe was one of the last in europe, had to trek all the way to portsmouth for the bluddy thing:


Now the car is all masked up ready for the spray booth:




And wolaa, fresh out the oven:






This is where we are now as of March 2013, i am back offshore so had to leave the car with the boys at FOZ Sports, last update was all the parts have been flatened and polished which i must say looks perfect, 90% of the car is built back up and were just waiting on the original headlights arriving for it then the fron end will get built back up. Cant wait to get home in 4 weeks to see the finished product. hope you've enjoyed the read.

Nice work there Gordon. It'll be a beauty when its finished.
Wise decision, getting rid of the Super T's. Was never a fan of them. Rondel is a class wheel.

Is that Marshall's mk2 shell in the pic??

Yes mate it is the marshalls car, it was in to get a full shell restoration and get and the forrest rally arches fitted to it, hiding in one of the back rooms was this little beauty also waiting on some tuning work getting done:


cheers for the comments, cant wait to get home to see it but its probably going up for sale in june which is a bit of a shame after all the time,money and effort ive put into it put i've got a new addition coming and got no space for the cossie.
