Finally got Alan to bring the first xr2 turbo over for some love. Going to be a nice wee track car.
How it looked at AVA last year.
How it showed up today.
20 mins later, the hard work started
Think it will be a few long nights in the garage again this winter.

Wee bit done today. N/S inner wing done, only really one bad bit, rest is just surface rust. Really surprised how good it was.
The offending hole.
Cut back to good metal.
Repaired.
A small step forward, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Was on call today, so didn't get to crail or to watch the karting. Then just got a call 10 mins ago to say I'm out working at 11pm.
But didn't waste the day. Alan came over & gave me the boot up the RS I needed. We got a fair bit done. Welding done on A pillars, all cage plates in, cage fitted. Inner wing off n/s. Must admit. I really enjoyed it today. We bit of graft with lots of banter. Forgot pics. Will update tomorrow, hope to get lots more done.

Front end removed.
New front end mocked up.
Forgot pics of the inside before wee stripped it all out again for painting. Got dash cut & fitted, all seat brackets in. Just to be cleaned up, some sealing done then inside can be painted.

Wee bit done today.
This plate was on the inner wing, welded over rust.
Cut it out & cut all rust out. Made a plate to fit in flush, welded in.
Might not look like it in pics, but trust me it's night & day on car. Still to be finished off & totally flushed.
Also got inner wing welded on. Again, still to be all smoothed in.
Cheers john

He's putting a 2.1 zvh in it, with t34 turbo & think he's wasting all that with of an management, but it's his decision.
