I'm sure you know a guy that had a full custom built sound system in his car. Running power cap & 3 amps. Custom built speaker pods, the lot. Can't remember the guys name. But I think you should be able to remember him.

If its an aftermarket head unit the remote usually tends to be blue or u could use the ign live then its just a live to the battery from the amp, a earth as close to the amp as you can and the rca lead to the head unit

yeah i need the one that tells the amp to power up when the ignition starts and i need the RL +,RL -, RR +, and the RR - wires so the amp has an imput and actually tells the sub to make sounds, i need to splice the wires with the ones for the amp input, i think im going to need help installing this

Is it standard head unit gary ? You will need a high level input if you dont have aux ports in back of hed unit you will get poop sound if you do it the way you are trying to do it . The one you are looking for to turn amp on and off with egnition is a remote wire which on most after market headunits will be marked rem or remote but it will still be there on standard one probably yellow or red but no sure put ignition on and test ur wires for live ones there should be two .turn egnition off and repeat and you should find only one if them will be live so the one thats only live when ignition is on use that one to splice ur remote wire in to hope that helps you out

Aye mate steveis right ,you really need an amp to power a sub
if its a double din stereo thats in it you will need a panel so you can fit a single din in it what year is the car is it the zetec s cos i think they have a single din in them im sure youll find a desent stereo for 50 odd quid second hand but saying that they aint as dear as they used to be halfords is usually cheap at this time of the year iv got an alpine and the sound is really good
