Hi all,

We have had a chat at the last couple of meetnights about what the Club could do regarding events. The committee has discussed some options including proposals such as:

Visit to M Sport
Night out
Track night
Rolling Road event
Photoshoot
Show attendance
Revamp of website

Opinions vary as to the merits of each idea however we need YOUR input.

What ideas do the club members have on what you want to do?

The Committe are here to facilitate and administer the Club including assisting with organising events however we don't have all the ideas or answers - so please give us your thoughts and opinions

Generally the website is quiet at the moment and holidays etc. are affecting Meetnight attendance. August meetnight is next week hopefully we can make it a busy one and get a bit of discussion going about the way forward for the club - I hope to see you all there

Rememer it's everyone's Club so if you want to change things or have ideas please shout out and make it happen!

With that in mind the AGM is in September so please consider Committee and Club roles and how you can play your part in the Club's future.

Visit to M Sport sounds good

IMO it seems to be the usual suspects who support the club throughout the year - Maybe a contribution by the club towards the transportation of members to a show / Meals or even entry fees ( EG National day as its the main RS show of the calendar or Croft as a lot of folks already attend ) Only my thoughts

What about a West on Tour again before some of the cars go back to sleep for the winter? The one to Inverary was good & I believe the previous one to Oban went well to. Unfortunatley not many supported the one I organised to Callander apart from Chris & Ian Turley but it was still a good day & some great roads.

The track evening and rolling road days are always popular, and a trip to m-sport would be interesting.
If the website could be made to host it's own images rather than using a third party that would make it a lot easier to use and possibly get some the Facebook traffic back to the forum?

I think opening up the forsale section to non members. This would create more visitors to the site as it looks like for people are shifting parts on Facebook. If more sales are thru the site it will help with people meeting up also making meet nights less intimidating for first timers if they have met people before.
Also some kind of payment to become a member as I struggle to get to the meet nights but some kind of member pack like stickers would be needed. As you can see I am not a member but always like to use the site would be great if it was used more.

Opening up the for sale section to all would just turn the site into a gumtree and is a pain and seriously time consuming for moderators to control IMO
And I for one enjoy putting names to faces so if the membership rules were anymore relaxed then this would not happen besides how would people feel if they were members and never been to an event or meet , could you really call yourself a member of this or any car club ?
I personally enjoy being out in the Escort at the odd weekend and meet night , as a club we understand work commitments etc but don't think we ask too much to become a member as it stands and in the past this has been discussed at length

First meetings are a bit nervy but I am still in this club as I will never forget the welcome received on my first visit
I have done a fair amount of Scottish events this year that are not all been big shows but met new peeps and seen some very interesting cars too so possibly find more local events next year to make it easier for non members to sign the register ?
I know how difficult this is to organise and to get peeps to show up on the day but is only my input
