The cars has sitting in the unit for about a year now and has got a little dusty so while derek is keeping it here during its restoration i am doing the car in my spare time so my take a while ,just started it today had a few spare hours just really got it cleaned and done a little work on the bonnet so dont have many pics so far.The pics of the car being washed are from a few months ago when i just move into the unit thats why the outside looks a bit rough has all been painted since then,and the car is now on axle stands with no engine or gearbox derek was down last weekend aand stripped them out.





















the car looks fine but in certain light and angles you can see the paint has a slightly brown tint in the paint this is probaly due to oxidization,just like when a red car goes pink.As seen on this photo of the bonnet.


Even at that the car does'nt look that bad right.

no really the car is covered in deep swirls, these aren't ordinary swirls you get on most cars the are swirls from a previous machine polish probably from when the car was painted by its previous owner and in body shops they use really heavy cutting compounds i.e farecla G3 after painting to remove dirt and flaten the paint,With any heavy compound polishes if it not used correctly it does this and the marks can be a hard job to remove and these are.

Ahhhh the old girl cleaned up very nicely mate

I'm embarrassed to say it hasn't seen any cleaning of any kind since it entered the unit over a year ago not even after some of the gyproc roof fell on it before you took the unit on

No prob shifty i would be happy to do it just give me a call one of the polishes i use has uva and uvb absorbers to help protect the paint from the sun which causes the cars paint to fade particuarly bad on red cars.did i sell that enough there lol.

have it all looking back to normal soon mate, good to have it there gives me something to work on im my spare time,man im gettin sad in my old age going in tomorrow do some work on it who needs a day of lol.

I wanted to be all over it by now but other than my holiday and trip to Combe I've been working away from home almost constantly over the last 5 weeks. There are things that I wanted to do to the Fez before it went up for sale but looks like I won't have the time over the next few weeks so think I'll knock a few quid off the asking and sell as it is very soon. Hopefully that'll give me the boot up the RS to kick it off, and some free time would be nice too
