Gave the car a wee polish tonight then took it a run for some pics...had bought some Mer Quick Detailer yesterday so tried that out plus the Polish Rossco gave me last month....




Got a few new stone chips tho & keep finding wee scratches..think im being pernickety tho haha!

I hate polishing the car as you allways notice wee marks and scratches that weren't there the last time
It's worth all the effort but best to put on a nice paste wax afterwards and it will keep that shiney clean look
It's not any where near as much hard work as hand polishing and you get to take a break for half an hour or so once
you've applied the wax to let it cure, then just wipe it off with a clean microfibre cloth and very little effort

Halfords sell the Autoglym wax in a little display box with a union jack on it, think it's about 30 odd quid.
You don't get a very big pot for your cash but it should out last your ownership of the car unless you never sell it

looks good emma, you trying to put me out of work as derek said worth getting a decent wax on it if you can,with the autoglym wax you also get two applicator pads and a microfibre towel for the wax,its £40 in halfords may be able to get it cheaper for you my mate bought some a while ago he only paid £30 for it at the wholesalers,you can get cheaper waxes but you get what you pay for worth spend as much as you can on a wax its worth it in the long run to protect the car from the elements and makes cleaning a whole lot easier too because the dirt cant get directly to the paint things like tar spots ect come of really easy,polishes dont do this even ones that say they have wax in them theyre not very good only make your car shiney or if your passing shawlands sometime pop in ill put a coat of wax on for you . i would personally recommend some chemical guys 50/50 wax you get twice as much for the same money you can put on more than 1 coat the more coats the more protection youll get and i found it a better wax too but i am bias here love the chemical guys stuff plus youll get a discount from davie who sells it for being a member of the group. was doing the same myself , got another WOS member in with a MK2 Focus RS.pics coming soon

Cool Rab...im off work for the next 2 weeks so might take a wee trip up!

Unfortunatley washing & polishing my car is wasted on it as its parked on a main road so by the next morning all the dust & road debris is over it but hey ho it still looks good for a night hahaha!!!

at least your giving it a go, once you start keeping it that good its hard to stop lol its an endless task sometimes but the wax would mean you wouldnt have to polish it again just wash it now and again, well for up to 6 months anyway until the wax needed topped up.
