done some work at Team Cryo Carnage garage overhauling the fooked gearboc

found that the output shaft bearing had let go big time taking out the shaft and pinion gear in the process, so it was new final drive gearset time, manged to get another quaife set and repair the box with new casing, bearins seals and shaft , so all good as new again

BIG BIG THANKS TO IMSY WHOS THE MAN WHEN IT COMES TO BC BOXES 8-) 8-)

cheers guys, thanks for the comments

ive been working on the car the past few days trying to work my way through all the jobs

thats the suspension now all done, fitted new heaveier springs to front and back, and fitted all the brake pipes and all fastened in

removed all the graphix from the car , in readiness or the paint next week

Image

Image

worked on the fancy head, this came totally bare and needed all the valves fitting and new valve oil stem seals ( not cheap)

I removed all the valves from the spare ST170 head and lapped all the valves in, what a horrible job that is :D :D

Image

Image

also bought a proper roof scoop for the car which will allow some air in the car on the hot days, With the polycarb windows fitted the car is very warm inside, so hopefully this will help

Been working on the car all day today

built up the rest of the head, fitted new valve stem oil seals and fitted valve springs and cams . Tried to set up the camshaft clearance to the solid lifters and the inlet cam looks like it could be wrong, its way off, over 0.030" away from the lifter, tried the other cam in there to check and thats almost bang on for the clearance 0.008", ill speak to David Newman tomorrow

Image

Image

Decided to try and get the roof scoop fitted, i was a bit nervous cutting the roof, and decided to cut a hole 150mm x 100mm which will let plenty air in

Image

Image

Image

so thats enough for this week, im back at work tomorrow and all weekend, so time for a rest, ill start again Monday, as the car is booked in for its respray next Friday
