Well we got snowed in yesterday and had a day off work....so it was ovcourse an ideal time to get stuck into the mk2.

Decided we were going to tackle the side windows on the doors...however after a search about discovered that I didnt have the clips to hold in the exterior window rubber channel  ....so will need to order up some of them.

After that we thought we would stick in the heater....nice straight forward job....aye right! lol

There was no way the heater would fit under the dash with the large gearbox tunnel AND the cage bar I had going across under the dash!...doh!

So not long after discovering it wouldnt fit...we decided to cut out the bar and make it a bolt on which does look the buisness actually. Ended up using roll cage clamps welded on one side at each end etc and re painted the bar. 8-)

So heater is now in, will probably dig out all the ducting and vents and give them a good wash in the sink then will fit the passenger side. Once the wiring and dials are in I will sort the drivers side or do that at same time.

So were getting there right enough lol

Well then folks the time has come for another update...

Been great being of work and getting more time to work on the mk2.

Fuel line run through cab...
Image

The next job was to fit the hyd pots and the bias peddle box c/w adjusting valve on dash...right pain in the ass getting the pots in the riht bit but well worth the effort in the end id say...

Mechanical mot friendly handbrake was then fitted with some brackets made up to hold the cables...the originals were cut off with the standard diff tunnel...will still fit the hyd fly off handbrake also...
Image

Also looked out some other bits n bobs since the paint was oot!
Image
Image

Next job on the list was the front half of wireing loom...
Looked it out untaped any old tape and re taped the loom, also tidied up some things that wasnt needed now also...
Image

also looked out my new clock and surround...

Then it was time to look out my centre console and decide what sort of layout I was going for....made up a template for the guages and switches etc before cutting/drilling the carbon panel...
Image
Image
so after a good while of marking up the panel, drilling, cutting and filing the end product is this....tbh I am well chuffed with how it all came out.
