The standard gearbox in the car is starting to make a bit of noise and clunk into 2nd so decided replace or upgrade

Latest part added to the pile

I also have a short shift knuckle and a full set of engine, diff and gearbox oils from Mike at R&B ready, for when i put the car in the air to change the box.

My engine loom is now ready so just waiting to get that back from Carlooms UK, and then all the parts will be ready to fit and get set up :) Just needto decide if im staying with the T34.63 , fitting the .55 housing or changing to a GT28 or GT30

Time for an update been fitting parts rather than collecting them :top:

Went to fit the straight cut box and ran into a problem as it had a saf output flange rather than the thinner escos one , this ment finding a saff donut and prop section or switch the back end of the box over from my original.

The next pics will give a clue as to next weeks job and this weeks new purchase

I got the standard exhaust cam fitted and dialled in today , and also checked the inlet cam and found it to be out . It was showing .23mm lift at TDC but should be .66mm so I have adjusted that aswell.

Got the injectors fitted along with the covers and coolers back on today along with the new leads, so just a waiting game now on the turbo and the mods that will go with it.

Im tempted to get the air injector bodies anodised black

Also trying to get hold of Ryan to get my loom back as that will be getting fitted while the car is getting set up hopefully

Havent updated this in a while but the car is now back up and running , not had a power run yet but it feels responsive and I would say as quick as my old white car.

Excuse the cut and pastes from another forum :?

Here are the last parts to be fitted next week then hopefully the car will be on the road. I have also bought a small turbo inlet of Dave, that will be getting done crakle black and fitted at the same time as the loom by Sitech Racing.

Well after spending most of the mornig getting the GT30 to fit buy swinging the core and comp housing

I also need to order an new turbo to cooler pipe from Roose as the outlet from the turbo is 2.5" rather than the 2" hose i have, I have made an adaptor out of a bit Porsche pipe i had but I dont fancy its chances of holding 2 bar

Got the car back on the deck now and have done a few miles but keeping the revs under 4K untill I get the car checked over with wideband gear.

What I have noticed is the GT30 spools quicker than my old T34.

Im happy that the standard heatshield still fits and keeps the look under the bonnet how I wanted it , also got some heat proof material for the water hoses as they run close to the ex housing.

UPDATE

Well i got the car booked into Sitech to get the fueling checked/logged today, then yesterday the car started to smoke from around the turbo when i turned it off . So after pulling the turbo off i found that it was leaking slightly from the oil drail , so a new gasket and a good tighten up and it was all sorted bar some scratched arm as its a nightmare getting to a couple of the bolts as im using a 4wd manifold.

Well after Si wound the actuator back a little after he saw 40psi on the first run, the car is now peaking to 32psi and dropping to 29psi.
The chip will need to go back to MSD for a few adjustments as the car is making boost so early there isnt enough fuel in the map low down, were seeing 2psi by 1500RPM and 6psi by 2200 rpm then close to a bar by 3000rpm. There is a little surge if you are at part throttle around 5000rpm then stamp on the throttle, but Simon is happy that it is very little and livable.

My new small turbo inlet manifold turned up today from Cossiedavid, Dave even welded in a ACT sensor boss in the elbow for me before posting it out

I have sprayed it crackle black today but im not as happy with the finnish as I got on the air injectors so it willbe going off to get crackle powdercoated before fitting.

If your ever over in Fife give me a shout Andy and I will give you a shot, think it would make a nice track turbo as the power comes in early and without a big kick.
Im just looking into a 6 deg back beam and adjustable tca's justnow but dont know if i realy need them for a road car.
