The silvertop head has only one idler pulley in the middle of the head ( the cam belt runs off the exhaust cam straight down to the crank pulley), the blacktop head has two pulleys either side of the centre that pulls the cam belt around both pulleys (and the belt runs up and down the centre-line of the engine from the crank pulley.
you can convert the heads to work on the other type of engine but it involves ali welding and some careful drilling and tapping to suit the pulleys.
Is there any reason you're wanting to use a silvertop head as the blacktop has better breathing
