Mk2 Mexico fire

This is Kevin Frosts car , its an absolutely immaculate RS Mexico, that is no longer with us due to an engine bay fire , which then took hold and gutted the whole car

The pictures are absolutely hoffifying for any car owner, but this car was this mans pride and joy

Ive seen that someone has suggested that it can be rebuilt, dont know how personally, but if it is to be, I think the group should make a wee donation to help him get it back to its best again, give something back to this guy who has been on the main RSOC committee for years

Thats certainly a bad one!!

I would think that he has more than addiquate insurance on the car that will afford him to buy a replacement, imo, That car will never see the road again!!

Thatll never see the road again anyway

As soon as he claims his insurance it'll end up a cat B write off so itll not be able to go back on the road anyway

Plus it would cost well in to 5 figures to put that back together

SHOCKING......... I've seen this car in the metal, was an absolute belter.

Always pays to carry a fire extinguisher, especially with older cars. Might have been able to catch it before it went out of control.
Shame tho :( :(

hard to look at those pictures, i can only imagine what it would be like if it was my own! certainly made me think twice about where the fire extinguisher is located, i think i'll be moving it from the boot to somewhere within reach!

Gutted for the bloke, suppose at least it was the car and not him as well but probably small comfort at this time.

My 3 door went up in flames back in the 1990's.
Fortunately it was parked outside Davy McInness's garage in Motherwell.
He didn't f*ck about, big garage fire extinguisher and right in about it.
Cost me £80 to recharge his extinguisher but the car only had minimal damage, well worth it.
