Expected to much.......

Hi all, I just wanted to vent out some of my frustration. Ok heres how the story begins, recently a savings plan matured and I got a fair amount of money in return. After paying off various bills and clearing the overdraft I had some money left over. My trusty vectra was a bit tired and needing bits and pieces done so I bit the bullet and bought myself a 2006 BMW 525 diesel carbon black. Here's where the frustration begins. When I bought it, it had some light scratches, general body condition for the age. So I decided to get her professionally detailed/valeted/paint corrected. I researched the Internet and remembered that there's a guy on this forum who does this kind of work. After seeing his work on this site and the glowing reports people had given him I decide to use the last of my money to use show and shines services. After physically taken the car to him and Robert looking over it we agreed on a price of £150. His quote was the car will be returned in "better than factory finish" he also said he would Hoover the inside out and treat the leather. After two days I returned to pick up the car and was surprised to see it outside, in the rain I thought maybe it would been kept inside so you could see his work in all it's glory. But anyway I handed over £150 and returned home. Later that day I decided to give her a good wash and what it reveled was it still had the marks on it. I had a little go at polishing some marks out myself and they came out so the idea that maybe he couldn't get them out went out the window. I had a closer look at the car and it looked practically the same as it went even down to the inside not even being hoovered. As for the leather I don't even think a damp cloth has been run over it! I've tried calling to report what I've found but he doesnt answer his phone, I've tried texting still no success. Im deeply saddened that people who say would do something and clearly don't and charge a large fee and these are strong words but rip off honest decent folk who have saved to spend good money on a service that wasent done.
Rant over and thanks for reading,

T man, Rab is a very good friend of mine and I have spoken to him recently regarding your car as he wasn't too happy himself. It would seem you have forgotten the price for the paint correction work that Rab quoted you for was £200 not £150. That was a rough quote over the phone he would need to see the car which you failed to take over previously so he could quote it properly. Then when you do get in touch you show up and claim a Member Discount even though you are NOT a Member of this Group. On top of this Rab doesn't even sponser this site any more so has NO obligation to give you a discount but being a decent bloke he agrees at £150 then I believe you handed him a pot of paint to fill in stone chips  Rab has NEVER advertised or said that he would do ANY repairs of stone chips to ANYONES car other than 1 that I can think of. Then he has to spend upwards of 10 hours polishing your car up to what I have seen in photograph form to be a very shiney car but thats not enough. You need to rip the arse out the guy asking for this that and the next thing at some knock down price then come on here and slate the guy.

Very good, you get what you pay for only you wanted a whole lot more all thrown in for free and then when you don't get it throw the dummy out and come on here to bitch. Feel thankfull I never deleted this post but thought I should put Rabs side across since he's rarely on here now a days.

Forgot to mention I doubt VERY much that Rab said he would get every scratch out of your car as thats not the sort of thing I've heard Rab say to anyone EVER. I never heard your conversation obviously but those words EVERY SCRATCH would not have came out of Rabs mouth I'd bet my 2 children on it. Rant Over

As i have mentioned on here, re sponsors, Its always good to get feed back from you, the member, perhaps not in this case, ie member part, however, as you may have noticed Rab shownshine has not renewed his advert for this season!!

I have heard many good reports about Rab and he has helped me out in the past with cleaning materials, however i am disapointed to here that you have been let down.

I'm surprised after reading this. Seen some of Rabs work, and its been spot on IMO.

He's only ever done one car for me, and it was just a freshen-up machine polish. Was never gonna be anywhere near spot on by the state of the paintwork, but we ageed this beforehand, and it was a 100% improvement when finished.
It was the missus Puma......... and he proved "you really CAN polish a turd"!!

the price i gave was at least £200 for full paint correction upon inspection of the car you agreed this price and booked the car in,, and as for your interior when you first showed up i said if i have time i will give it a clean inside for free you never asked for this or paid for it i offered on good will because of the club then AFTER this is when YOU started telling me how much you were paying you said you only wanted to pay £150 because of the west group discount a group you are not a member off and i don't sponsor anymore but just for the record i would still offer discount to members because i've been around the club a while so don't mind, back to the point, and on top of that you expected me to fill in every stone chip on the car for nothing and there was no metion of this in the phone calls we had, you were trying to take the pee in my opinion, after you started messing with the price i did say for that i wouldn't be getting every scratch out you said ok, you got what you paid for mate the car got a standard machine polish and 2 coats of wax, £150 is the price i would charge anyone for a car this size.

and as far as your car not looking any different your full of s**t.
i never answered your calls because the advantage of being self employed is you can choose who you want to answer the phone too.

and as for your other comments about ripping people off and the standard of my work, i think you tried to take the pee out of me and it failled and now you want to try do it on here too.
