Hi all, I just wanted to vent out some of my frustration. Ok heres how the story begins, recently a savings plan matured and I got a fair amount of money in return. After paying off various bills and clearing the overdraft I had some money left over. My trusty vectra was a bit tired and needing bits and pieces done so I bit the bullet and bought myself a 2006 BMW 525 diesel carbon black. Here's where the frustration begins. When I bought it, it had some light scratches, general body condition for the age. So I decided to get her professionally detailed/valeted/paint corrected. I researched the Internet and remembered that there's a guy on this forum who does this kind of work. After seeing his work on this site and the glowing reports people had given him I decide to use the last of my money to use show and shines services. After physically taken the car to him and Robert looking over it we agreed on a price of £150. His quote was the car will be returned in "better than factory finish" he also said he would Hoover the inside out and treat the leather. After two days I returned to pick up the car and was surprised to see it outside, in the rain I thought maybe it would been kept inside so you could see his work in all it's glory. But anyway I handed over £150 and returned home. Later that day I decided to give her a good wash and what it reveled was it still had the marks on it. I had a little go at polishing some marks out myself and they came out so the idea that maybe he couldn't get them out went out the window. I had a closer look at the car and it looked practically the same as it went even down to the inside not even being hoovered. As for the leather I don't even think a damp cloth has been run over it! I've tried calling to report what I've found but he doesnt answer his phone, I've tried texting still no success. Im deeply saddened that people who say would do something and clearly don't and charge a large fee and these are strong words but rip off honest decent folk who have saved to spend good money on a service that wasent done.
Rant over and thanks for reading,
