Got a good bit done today... :D

1st off I had to remove all of the masking paper etc, car looks this biz inside now..well chuffed!
Image
Next on the list was to weld shut/fill the small hole/gap between front panel and wings..dont want any water etc coming out and running down front.
Image
Image
Welded in small plates and smoothed with some cataloy
Image
Next on the list was to sort out the boot...I had fitted an alloy spoiler and decided im fitting a carbon one...thus I was left with loads holes in boot!

Time for another update folks! :D
Now thats us off for the hols we can really get stuck in about both the mk1 and my mk2 :D
Was in the workshop all day today, getting alot done 8-)
Through the week I had finished repairing any bit on pass side of mk1 and gave her a coat of grey primer for now.
Got the brakes sorted on her today and fittied the propper twin throttle linkage, re-fitted wheels and seats.
Will be down off stands tomorrow, for a wee test drive! to see how she fairs with that engine and box in etc :)
Then it will be whisked back into workshop and stripped and put on spit for a good bit of tlc 8-) ...better doing all the work now rather than down the line :)

My mk2 was getting a good going over today aswell..fitted the propper tubing in front of axle for wcxm mounts.
Now its strong as fook up there!...I can hit sum yumps etc with confidence!...well maybe down the line I will!
Also last night and this morning I sorted my rear 4link boxes and skids underneath car..wasnt happy with the height of em. Spot on now tho!
Heres the bit you's are after anyway!......yes the pics :D

Tomorrow she will get all that grey glossed over with the red.
Then we will be fitting the wxcm, fronts struts, steering rack, rear axle etc and get her down on her feet/wheels!!!!! :D :D

Lewis:  Thanks man, Wont be long till you riding shotgun in this bad boy! 8-) 8-)

Well then we've had a good productive escort day today! :D
1st on the list was to get maw n paw's mk1 out for a wee try...to see if the geabox, engine etc was ok...as we bought the car non running!
We were all impressed by how she performed although we will be changing the gearbox, clutch and fit an lsd 8-)
Heres some pics...
Image
Mum n dad in the mk1...brought back some memories! 8-)
Image
After her wee test in the rain she was straight back in and dried off with heaters on :)
You can see the work iv been doing on this side with the primer
Image

After all that playing about in the mk1 it was time to concentrate on my mk2 again....
Heres my dad fitting the tempory crossmember
Image
Image
We also stuck on a tempory back axle today...dont want to fit the nice shiney stuff incase it gets all offspray!
Heres the mk2 awaiting axle...
Image

And after over a year of being on the spit!!!.............she's down on her tempory feet/wheels! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Its a crackin wee mota and handles like an escort should 8-) ...
We've all been bustin our asses the past few days and we still aint finished when we set out to do coz its a pain in the ass job  ....no it isnt working on the escorts unfortulately...its tidying up the workshop!...fookin nightmare! despreatley needin done tho! just been that much happnin over the past year and a half with the cars in there that things have got a bit out of hand! :(
So were just trying to clear space and tidy up ready to get the mk1 on the spit next and then hopefully by that time mines will be back from paint and start getting built up :D :D :D
Will keep use updated if anything else happens with the auld scorts! :D 8-)
